The brewery was designed such that almost all components that contact the wort are constructed from stainless steel... the exceptions being the copper HERMS coil and the magnetically coupled wort pump. The HLT, mash tun, and boil kettle are stainless kegs that have had the tops cut, holes drilled, fittings installed, and then acid cleaned. The tubing is 1/2" stainless and the fittings are a combination of pipe and compression fittings... again all stainless. The propane system consists of brass pipe and flexible gas tubing while the burners were purchased as slightly modified turkey fryer components. The carbon steel stand was cut and welded out of 1/4" angle iron stock with a 1/4" diamond plate aluminum bottom shelf. The controller was also completely custom designed (see more on the controller link). Lastly, the fermenter was a retail purchase.
