The Story

The brewery began as several conversations with some home brewers that I work with.  The idea of home brewing sounded pretty appealing and I had developed a taste for some of the Scottish and Scotch ales that my wife and I had sampled at a local pub... particularly Belhaven Scottish Ale.  After taking a trip to the UK, this particular beer style continued to grow on both of us and, with the limited availability here in the states, the home brewing option looked like the way to go.  I started looking at starter kits for home brewing and found that the "next step up" in each kit always looked appealing.  Next thing you know I'm looking at a pretty expensive pre-built brewery and, at that point, decided that building my own was the way to go.  After many hours of design, internet shopping, local shopping, construction, testing, etc, the brewery was dedicated on October 21st, 2005.
