Before construction on the brewery even began, Jackie was named the official honoree. His Scottish ancestry fit the brewery style and he was an amazing friend, companion, and family member. I grew up with dogs and Jackie was in a word... extraordinary. Sadly, after almost 15 years and a very trying final few months, we had Jackie put to sleep on December 2nd 2007. Ironically, we already had plans to brew a Scottish ale that weekend and, on Friday, we began to see indications that possibly the end was near for him. It made for the most heartbreaking brewing session imaginable. Needless to say, he will be deeply missed and remembered always. When you have a chance, please raise a pint to his memory and every other 4 legged friend who is no longer with us. |
